WHAT IS A YOUNG APPRENTICE?
Youth Apprentice is a learning program from the Ministry of Labor and Employment. These youth policies are important for reducing youth unemployment rates.

It is observed that technical and professional training for teenagers and young people broadens their possibilities for entering the job market, making the future of the new generation more promising. This training takes place in learning programs organized and developed under the guidance and responsibility of legally qualified training institutions.

The apprentice is a young person between 14 and 24 years old, who may be studying or not. They will be enrolled in a professional apprenticeship course and employed by establishments of any nature with employees subject to the CLT. The young apprentice commits to diligently carrying out the tasks necessary for this training.

The contract must expressly state the course, daily and weekly hours, define the amount of theoretical and practical hours, monthly remuneration, and the start and end date of the contract, which should coincide with the start and end of the apprenticeship course specified in its program.

The benefits are the same as those guaranteed by the CLT.

HOW MUCH DOES A YOUNG APPRENTICE EARN?
According to the Ministry of Labor and Employment, the youth apprentice law guarantees a minimum hourly wage (R$4.72 per hour for 2020), considering any applicable state minimum wage. Additionally, other benefits such as meal allowance, transportation allowance, medical, dental assistance, among others should be considered.

Some companies pay more than the minimum hourly wage.

WILL I GET MY FIRST JOB?
The Young Apprentice program is the best way for young people to get their first job since they receive theoretical training from a qualifying institution and have the opportunity to engage in practical activities.
Furthermore, after completing the apprenticeship contract, many young people continue working for the companies.

IS PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED?
There is no requirement for a young apprentice candidate to have previous work experience as the project is geared towards first-time employment.
Don't be overly concerned about your resume lacking experience; the important thing is to reach out to companies and demonstrate interest in the position.

MINOR APPRENTICE OR YOUNG APPRENTICE?
Both terms are used interchangeably.
